Here’s what training with Smoot Hoops Academy looks like once you’re enrolled.
Sessions are scheduled on a regular cadence — typically 1 or 2 times per week for an hour. You’ll receive calendar invites for every session.
Coach Kaimyn keeps parents informed about their player’s progress, areas of improvement, and goals. You’re always in the loop.
Training follows a structured progression. You and your player will see real, measurable improvement over time — in skills and in confidence.
Smoot Hoops Academy trains young athletes ages 8 through 18. Training is adapted to four developmental stages: 8–10 (foundation builders), 11–13 (skill developers), 14–16 (competitive athletes), and 16–18 (elite development).
No experience necessary. We work with players at all levels, from complete beginners who are just picking up a basketball to experienced athletes preparing for competitive teams. Coach Kaimyn adapts every session to the player’s current ability.
Sessions are held in the Murrieta, Temecula, Menifee, and surrounding areas. Specific locations are discussed during your discovery call based on availability and convenience. Limited San Diego availability is also offered upon request.
After our initial phone call, we schedule a free in-person evaluation session where the player, parent, and Coach Kaimyn meet together. We assess the player’s current skills, discuss goals, and determine if the program is a good fit. There’s no obligation or commitment.
Once a training plan is agreed upon, you’ll receive a payment link via email. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Options include one-time payment for packages or monthly billing for development programs.
Yes, all players are required to complete a training agreement and liability waiver before sessions begin. This is a standard form that covers training expectations and safety. You can view the training agreement here.
On school days, sessions are typically available from 6am–8am and 2pm–7pm. Weekend hours are flexible. Specific scheduling is coordinated during the enrollment process to find times that work for your family.
We understand families may have multiple players. Sliding scale options may be available for families enrolling more than one child. Ask about this during your discovery call.
